Fossils of Feelings
’Solid pieces of material developed in the tract of the soul’
How long do we bury emotions deep inside ourselves, for as long as they remain in us, the tangible stones of our soul?
How many such stones do we carry for years, for a life and even pass on to our descendants?
Under their weight, we become stronger or even broken.
I had some old memories, and emotions, that I transferred to the clay only with one or two movements. I have mined them out of myself and now put them in your hands - the fossilized impressions of an angry fist, a painful grip or a curious press.
Can the feelings be tangible?
As you hold them in your hand, you can try to fill the negative space of my fingers with yours.
What feeling evokes you by this?
What binds us together is the touch, matter and space, our lasting feelings in the passing time.
